We can all benefit from a full-nights sleep!

We’ve all heard about the importance of getting a good night sleep, but how many of us can say we consistently get the amount of rest we need? If you fall asleep easily, count yourself among the lucky ones. If, however, it has proven to be a struggle to get those needed rest hours here are some things to consider.

Sleep not only plays a role in physical well-being but it also is beneficial mental well-being. While you sleep, your body is working to support healthy brain function. In other words, sleep helps your brain work properly. Your brain and mind require pathways that allow you to learn and retain information. A good night sleep allows for those pathways to be created. Quality sleep will also enable quicker decision making, more creativity and an enhanced ability to solve problems. If you are not waking up feeling refreshed mentally, it may be of benefit to consider methods of improving your sleep!

When we associate sleep with physical health it is easy to think straightaway of muscle tissue repair. While that is also an imperative benefit of quality sleep, your heart and blood vessels undergo processes of healing and repair while you’re asleep! If you are not getting adequate rest, there is a higher chance for heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, stroke and even diabetes. Surely your physical well-being depends a great deal on the quality of your sleep!

Take the opportunity this week to track the hours of sleep you get each night. Are you finding that the number of hours each night is consistent? Or is it more hit or miss and whatever your body decides? Many people are concerned with relying on sleep aids and becoming dependent on them over time. At Max Muscle Davis County, we understand that concern. We have multiple supplements that you can use that won’t leave you feeling dependent over time.

We invite you to come in store TODAY and visit with your Certified Fitness Nutrition Coach to review your nutrition approach and discuss ways you can improve your sleeping habits! Remember, a good hour long workout loses much of its potential benefit if an hour or two of sleep is missed! We look forward to seeing you soon!
